How is the financial management of medical researches in medical research centers?
Most research is run by national or international grant, either from the government or from charities-and more recently, from drug companies. Government grants are paid out, usually, quarterly-that is, every three months. Charities usually give money yearly, or occasionally give the entire amount at once. Drug companies can grant the money all at once, or if it is in collaboration, will give money based upon productivity. Regardless, usually the financial department of the medical centre or university will act as if all the money has been disbursed, and allow the researcher to spend regardless of quarterly or yearly payments made by the granting agency.
