I have a rare condition. I want to know more about it. There at this time is not a known cause, although there are treatment.
They just want to draw lab samples and do test. They will compensate me like $200 is it worth it.
I probably can get the same results from my dr, except I will have to pay and would not be compensated.
Would you participate in a research study, if you had a rare medical condition?
The fact is that too few people participate in clinical trials - you have the ability to help people who suffer the same disorder as you have in a way that you might not be able to imagine.....
The fact that you have the ability to participate (most people are never exposed to the opprotunity) alone is a very good thing. Your participation might mean that someday there will be better and more effective treatments and tests for your condition.
Its not about the money....just do it, please, on behalf of those who might benefit from it in days to come.
Reply:yes i would try anything to cure myself
Reply:As long as they want samples that are relatively painless to take, then I would go for it.
It could help doctors understand more about your condition, and that could help others with the same or similar conditions. You'd be getting paid to help other people. I see very few drawbacks there.
If, say, they wanted to take bone marrow and spinal fluid, I'd have to think that over, because those can be really painful procedures.
