Stem Cell Research and Pro-Lifers: Where is the righteous indignation for the embryos burned as medical waste

When an embryo is unused by people who are trying to get pregnant through artificial means - when those people either give up, or succeed and don't want any more children... those embryos are incinerated in a huge pile of medical waste.





They are not buried.





They are not mourned.





There is no backlash of outrage from pro-lifers about those "babies."





When the SAME embryos are signed over by the people who own them to be used for medical research into stem cells... pro-lifers have a conniption.





Why?

I love it how God always makes her way into the debate. Anyone ever heard of the first Amendment?





It's really sad that conservatives care more about some frozen cells then they do about people who are suffering. Must be that compassionate conservatism hard at work

Losing an embyro is not losing a baby.





They aren't alive.





We aren't even talking about a fetus at this stage.





Stem Cell research could lead to the curing of some many diseases.





The fact that you idiots would sentence people to death over potential babies makes me sick.

Anyways, I think part of the outrage is that people have a problem with government funding of embryonic stem cell research.





*let me clarify...I don't like the idea of creating a ton of embryos and only "trying" a few. I don't know the facts like y'all but the idea of it doesn't work for me. I'm not saying I'm against fertility treatment or couples trying to be parents. (I hope that makes sense)

Reply:There is outrage over those poor children being killed. If you allow them to be used for research we will simply be mourning for dead babies because people will create more embryos to meet their need for stem cells.





Researchers would be willing to pay that kind of money, especially if it was given to them by the government. It would be a small expense compared to the total cost of research and you would get a lot of embryos. So it isn't ridiculous, the left just wants you to think it is.
