Doing a medical research project on dibetes?
To date, there is no cure for diabetes. Some can control it through diet and exercise w/o medications.

If you are heavy, moderate exercise like a brisk walk per day, drinking water, limiting carbohydrates and increasing protein are ways to stave off diabetes. However, it is a genetic disease and runs in families. Although w/ proper diet and exercise and drinking plenty of water can stave off age of onset in many people whether you are heavy or not.

I hope this helps.

You sound interested in health and medicine. You'd make a great medical transcriptionist ; )

By definition, once you have it, you have it for life. Exercising and loosing weight can help and bring you to baseline, but you will have it for the rest of your life --although you might not need treatment.

There are exceptions, like if you get a Islet transplant or pancrease transplant.
Reply:You need to learn how and what causes blood sugar to spike, like high glycemic foods and diet foods. You need to exercise to bring down blood sugars and to help your body digest food so yes exercise is really very good for you. There is a formula to eating right and working out and making sure you are nutritionally sound so all you have to do is to learn how to alkalize your body and eat nutritionally sound foods.
