Dose New Mexico have laws or restrictions against growing mushrooms for medical research?

Are these "Shrooms" or Mushrooms??

Dose New Mexico have laws or restrictions against growing mushrooms for medical research?
By mushrooms are we using the vernacular for peyote?
Reply:Well it's fuzzy, they ruled in 2005 that growing psilocybin mushrooms for personal consumption could not be considered "manufacturing a controlled substance". But possesion of mushrooms is still illegal, the penalty for possesion is...

guilty of a misdemeanor and shall be punished by a fine of not less than five hundred dollars ($500) or more than one thousand dollars ($1,000) or by imprisonment for a definite term less than one year, or both.

Also I think if you were going to be growing for medical research you would have consulted with a lawyer, not a bunch of random people.
